My first four children seemed to get along well in school, but my fifth child was different from day 1. When she went into kindergarten, she would just sit and cry. She was afraid of a lot of things, and cried when she heard loud noises. We had her tested after kindergarten and found out that she had emotional disorders. She was serviced in special education from first grade on. At about age 10, she started taking medications that allowed her to function semi-normally and finish school. We are glad we got help when she was in kindergarten. She now is able to care for herself and work at a part-time job.

Parenting life coaches all always a BIG help as well. That's what I hope to be soon. It's true that we need to make sure that we get help when we don't know what to do to help our kids. It's unfair not to for their sakes.
